A career in journalism has allowed me to have many wonderful experiences and meet countless interesting people, ranging from late actor Don Knotts to politicians like Dick Cheney and Kathleen Sebelius. I have especially enjoyed sharing the inspiring stories of local community and business leaders.
As a child, I attended a one-room country school in rural Montana, where the closest grocery store was a 40-mile drive away.
Gravel roads, sagebrush and starry skies are woven into my earliest memories. An ideal day for me is spending time with family in the outdoors, hiking and camping.
Many of my fondest memories are set in the Black Hills of South Dakota, where I attended high school and college. (My high school graduation ceremony was at Mount Rushmore.)
Work took me to Kansas with moves to increasingly larger cities. I was working in downtown Kansas City, Missouri, and living in the suburbs when I decided it was time for a lifestyle change. In June 2013, I moved to Wyoming, and I love the landscape and culture.
I’m grateful for the amazing people I have met and the wonderful experiences I have had.
